The
Lord knows how our flesh can be, that's why He spent so much time on
comforting His disciples, and those who heard His sermons. And when
He left physically, He sent the Comforter in His place, to remind us
always that He is with us in Spirit, and if we follow after the
Spirit and not the flesh, we'll always be one with Him and the
Father.
These
end days are definitely faith testing times, get too caught up in the
world and His Word will be of little effect in comforting you. But
friends, if we stay in His Word, His Will, we shall have the peace He
desires us to have:
Joh
14:27
Peace
I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth,
give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be
afraid.
Isa
9:6
For
unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government
shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of
Peace.
Joh
16:33 These
things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the
world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have
overcome the world.
Php
4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto
God. Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
No matter what trials or
tribulations we go through He is always there with us. We are not
alone in this wicked world, we too will overcome through Him as He
said we would. Abiding in Jesus and the Father we'll overcome to the
end and be with Him forever (Rev 3:12, 1 Th 4:17).
What trials are you going
through? Is it money? Health? Fear? No matter, the Lord has
addressed all these things, He knows what we need:
Mat
6:8 Be
not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things
ye have need of, before ye ask him.
Mat
6:31 Therefore
take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink?
or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Mat
6:32 (For
after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly
Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Mat 6:33 But
seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all
these things shall be added unto you.
Php
4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches
in glory by Christ Jesus.
Health
issues can weigh on the mind if we let them. I know, I battle them
frequently, but I know that He knows what I need, and He will heal
me, if it be His will. We have to turn our cares over to Him, He
cares for us (1 Pe 5:7), and we have to let Him bear our burdens
instead of trying to carry them by ourselves:
Mat
11:28 Come
unto me, all
ye
that
labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Mat
11:29
Take
my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart:
and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Jer
17:14 Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall
be saved: for thou art
my praise.
Isa
53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet
we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Isa
53:5
But he was
wounded for our transgressions, he
was
bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was
upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Another
thing that can steal our peace away is sin in our life. If we have
confessed our sin and repented of it, the Lord is merciful to forgive
us. Sometimes the guilt of our sins can overwhelm us and make us feel
that God doesn't love us anymore, that we can't be forgiven, these
too are lies from the enemy. David was forgiven of murder and
adultery, Paul of at least being an accomplice to the murder of the
early followers of Jesus Christ. Those were weighty sins, but, they
were forgiven. If we take our sins to the Lord and truly repent, with
true godly sorrow, he knows our hearts and will forgive us also. How
many times?
Mat
18:21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my
brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Mat
18:22 Jesus saith unto him,
I
say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
490?
Would He ask us to forgive those he would not forgive? I am
certainly not condoning or saying anyone has a license to sin, but
the scriptures are clear. I would also add as many of you know, when
you sin, that is when a true believer sins, they will feel intense
pain and sorrow. They probably won't sleep well until they take it to
the Lord in true repentance. You do not want to go through this pain,
no sin is worth it. Sin will separate you from the Lord, it’s
possible you could develop a seared conscience, and start to believe
evil is good and good is evil, it’s dangerous, stay in prayer
constantly to avoid it. Ask the Lord to deliver you from evil and
temptation always.
2Co
7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be
repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
As
we go through our day, remember to keep it one day at a time as the
Lord told us to (Mat 6:34), and to take every thought and make it
line up with His commandments. Trust and obey and stand firm on your
faith. Put on the whole armor of God and tell the devil that he is a
liar and you won’t listen to his attempts to fill you with doubt
and fear, and tempt you to sin. We are children of God, we have a
Bible full of promises to put our faith in. We have the Lord who
hears our prayers, and rewards us as we seek him earnestly.
2Co
10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
2Co
10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are
not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong
holds;) 2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into
captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Eph
6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power
of his might. Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may
be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Eph 6:12 For we
wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye
may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to
stand.
Heb
11:6 But without faith it
is
impossible to please him:
for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that
he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Fear
not!
