The 70th Week Delusion

Most Bible scholars agree that from the commandment of Artaxerxes in 457 BC to rebuild Jerusalem and the Temple (Ezr 7:11 - 28), until the baptism of our Lord is 69 weeks or 483 years. Which leaves one prophetic week or 7 years, here's where the debates and false doctrines abound. With a little margin for error on either side you have your 70 weeks or 7×70=490 years. 457 BC to 34 AD is 490 Years. I believe the 70 weeks ended with the stoning (and biting) of Stephen in approx 34AD. Half way through the 70th week the Lord was crucified for us, and after His Resurrection and ascendance to Heaven His disciples continued to preach the Gospel to the Children of Israel until the murder of Stephen (Act 7:54-60). Thenceforth, Peter received from the Lord to preach to the gentiles (Act 10:34-48), and Saul converted on the road to Damascus (Act 9:3-9) and also preached to the Gentiles. 40 years later, like the time in the desert, the destruction and desolation of the Temple and Jerusalem began. It was indeed the end of physical Israel. The Israel of God from then on was comprised of believers, whether they be natural, or grafted in roots into the spiritual olive tree representing Israel (Rom 11).

Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week ...” He, is Jesus Christ, many believe the he is “antichrist” but that is demonstrably false. Christ confirms the New Covenant or Testament, with His blood:

Mat 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Dan 9:27 … and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease …

His death on the cross officially caused the end to animal sacrificial atonement of sin, although God had told the children of Israel long before He was not pleased with their animal sacrifices.

1Sa 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

Isa 1:11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.

Hos 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

Mat 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Dan 9:27 … and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

For the evil done by the Children of Israel, culminating in the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the wrath of God falls upon that final generation of the physical seed of Abraham:

Mat 23:29-38 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

Jesus spoke of it even more specifically in other verses:

Luk 21:20-22 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

As you study the 70th Week, and what is taught today, you'll see the 70th week delusion ties in to all the other false doctrines, and has a common thread, to diminish the work of Jesus Christ on the cross, and to establish that God still owes something to the physical descendents of Abraham. For further detail on this click here.

The physical descendents of Abraham and their “Christian” Zionist supporters say they have a “Special relationship”, or there's two separate Covenants, one for them, one for everybody else. They say the 70th week was suspended until the end time, and then there is either a pre, mid or post return of Jesus during the final 7 years of tribulation. The common theme is again God owes them still more, regardless of their lack of faith and disobedience, of course it's false doctrines. Invented, perverted Judiazation of the Bible. It all ties together, if they accepted the truth of Daniel 9 they would have to admit that the Messiah, Jesus Christ already came, and they rejected Him and had Him put to death like the prophets before Him.

It's way past time to get real here, face the Biblical truth. Not believing on Jesus and disobedience of His Commandments will get you a one way ticket to the Lake of Fire, not an all expense paid homeland. I have said this before and say it again now: What part of Jesus Christ is the Seed of Abraham (Gal 3:16) don't you understand?

God Won't Break His Promise To His "People"

This is one of the most common and egregious errors in modern Christianity, to assume that God owes something to a certain people because of their physical birthright. This apostasy is so wide spread, so engrained in Christians that it is like trying to teach a person of the Catholic faith the errors of their “Church” doctrine. There are ready made defenses in each case, they are brainwashed from birth to respond to it in a way so as to make it nearly impossible for them to hear the truth. “The land belongs to Israel”. “God will bless those who bless them,” “Replacement Theology”! “God is not a Liar, He will keep His promises!”

These are all responses that further the apostasy, the false doctrines that have played such a large role in getting us to where we are today. Christians have forfeited their birthright, like Esau, and have allowed a people who despise our Lord to gain so much power over them. It may be only the return of our Lord that saves us from a final, cataclysmic World War.

It is falsely taught and believed that the land of Palestine belongs to the physical descendants of Abraham, unconditionally. This has never been the case, it has always been a Covenant dependent upon faith and obedience, just as salvation has always been and still is. The Bible is clear on this, you simply have to forget what the false teachers and prophets have taught you, and read and accept the Word of God, and not the fairy tales that pass for sound doctrine in our time (2 Ti 4:3).

Deu 18:15 – 19 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

Act 3:22 -23 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Act 7:37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.

Always, from the beginning of God's dealings with men, He has punished disobedience. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate the fruit of the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil God removed them from the Garden of Eden (Gen 3). Those who disobeyed God after He had freed them from bondage in Egypt were not permitted to enter into the Promised Land, including Moses. Before and after the Children of Israel were in the land God warned them He would remove them if they did not obey His Commandments:

Deu 28:58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD …
Deu 28:63 And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
Deu 28:64 And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.

Faith and obedience has always been required to enjoy the blessings of the Lord. For men there has never been a Covenant that didn't require these things. That is why to say that God is restoring the nation of Israel to a people who neither believe or obey Him is ludicrous. He is the same yesterday today and forever. He will punish sin and will not reward disobedience, and faith is the only way to please Him. Read the scriptures below and then ask yourself if He would punish those who ate leavened bread so harshly, what would He do if they killed all the prophets and finally His own Son?

Exo 12:15 Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

We needn't wonder because Jesus told us:

Luk 20:13-16 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him. But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them? He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.

God is no respecter of persons, as John the Baptist said He can raise up sons of Abraham from stones (Mat 3:9, Luk 3:8). His promises are for those who believe and obey, no exceptions, regardless of whether or not you can trace your ancestors back to Abraham or not. God has kept His promises and punished those who have been disobedient, after many warnings. The Israel of God continues (Rom 11, Gal 6:16), believers were kept in the Spiritual Olive tree representing it (Rom 11:16-24), and unbelievers were torn out, it is the same today. If those who claim to be Jews but are not (Rev 2:9. 3:9) repented and believed they would be added in to the Israel of God as well, it has nothing to do with the land or their physical birthright, every promise God made to men were fulfilled, along with the law and the Prophets by Christ at the cross and with the revelation that Jesus Christ is the Seed of Abraham (Gal 3:16). All we wait upon now is His return to destroy His enemies and to make the kingdoms of the world His own.

Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Give to every man that asketh of thee

I know a lady who was helping another lady. She loaned or gave her hundreds of dollars to get her into an apartment, as she was previously living in her car. Her health declined and she died a couple days ago. Now the woman is upset because she isn't going to get her money back. She said, “I am not ever going to help anyone again.” She went on to say she was a sucker and she felt stupid. She told me how she had talked to the woman’s son who came from his home for the funeral, in hopes of trying to get some of her money back. He told her she was stupid to give his mother any money, as she just frittered it away on buying antiques or something like that. He said she was a hoarder and they had cut her off years ago. Having said that he's now back where he lives, with the certificate of his mother's death and the insurance payment. I told her she did what the Lord told us to do. It doesn't matter what the person we give to does or doesn't do. That's on them. We obey the Lord's commandments:

Luk 6:30 - 34 Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them. And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

I know most of us have been subjected to the Commandments of the Lord being twisted and distorted our entire lives, but they really do mean what He said they mean. Anytime you hear someone trying to explain away the clear and simple truths of the Lord's Commandments, be on guard. If you follow their take on them, you too will be conforming His Word to the flesh as they do. You are on your way to worshiping the god of this world and leaving your first love behind. God forbid.

We've all heard people who claim to be Christians say “We can't give them money, they'll just spend it on booze or drugs.” or “We have to be good stewards of what God has given us.” I tell you that there are no qualifying statements to the Lord's Commandments. Simply obey. Every time you hear such things, it is man trying to justify the works of the flesh and his disobedience to the Lord. Simply obey and do the will of the Lord, not the works of Satan. Give to all who ask of you. Period. No if, ands, or buts. Simple. Obey His commandments and you will be blessed.

Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor

Our town has a beautiful nativity scene on the front lawn of the courthouse. It truly is impressive. As I walked up closer, I sort of chuckled and commented on the blonde-haired blue-eyed Jesus in the manger. No, the Bible doesn't describe Jesus' outward appearance so we can't say for sure what He looked like. However, most would agree that He was more likely to appear Arab rather than a blonde-haired blue-eyed European.
Later as I was thinking about our day, I thought to myself, “How fitting and poignant. A baby Jesus made in our own image.”
We love to make Jesus into our own image. He hates the same things we do, dresses the way we do, has the same political beliefs, and has the same enemies. He hates it when the local Wal-Mart cashier wishes us “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” at this time of year. He smiles down fondly at us as we make laws against other people's sins, while He hands out unlimited grace for our own sins of choice.
No, we have no problem following this Jesus that we've made into our own image.
But the Jesus Who was born in a manger over 2000 years ago is much more difficult to follow.
The Jesus of the Manger, Who was born into scandal and scorn from the religious folks. He was born homeless. An outcast. The King of Kings entered this world via a dirty, feces-covered stable. And of all the people God could've chosen to announce His Son's arrival to, whom did He choose? Shepherds. Some of the lowest of the low in Jewish society. They lived with their sheep year-round in the fields, so they stank of sheep and their own filth. Outcasts. And then there were the magi. They were not kings, as the old hymn portrays. They were magi. Mystics. Pagans. Traveling from a foreign land to follow the star that their prophecy foretold would light the way to the Son of God. Pagans. Immigrants. Outcasts.
The Jesus of the Manger is the Savior of the homeless and the immigrant. He is the Savior of the poor, the cold and the underfed. He is the Savior of the prisoner and the tortured. The tax collector and the prostitute. The drug addict and the thief. The outcasts.
The Jesus of the Manger is the radical Lord of the upside down Kingdom of God, where the first shall be last and the last shall be first. Where those who make peace are above those who wage war. Where enemies are loved and the poor are blessed. Where the wisdom of this world is foolishness.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.” - Luke 4:18

Do Violence to No Man

In the long and bloody history of the United States of America we’ve seen all manner of evil. From the slaughter and ethnic cleansing of the natural inhabitants of this country to the ghastly evils of Slavery. Recently, a Senate investigation released details of the torture programs used by the government during the so-called “War on Terror”. Countless “terror suspects” were tortured, some to death, by means which are surely illegal under the rule of law, but were justified to “keep us safe”.

Many of us were disgusted by the revelations of brutal, cruel and inhumane treatment of the “terror suspects,” but some were not. The meme below was posted by a person who claims Christ as their savior.

As many stupid and disgusting things as I have seen in this world, I was still greatly disturbed by this. This is the most vile and reprehensible justification of the wicked behavior of the government I’ve come across, and to be posted by a supposed “Christian?” What part of the Bible did they use to justify torture?

Would it be:

Mat 5:43-47: Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Or this:

Rom 12:17-21: Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

What does the picture show? A soldier hugging a victim of terrorism? What terror attack? Who are the terrorists? All we really know about the “terror attacks” are what the government tells us. Given their track record for truth we would be quite foolish to take their word for it, to base our support for ungodly behavior upon what they tell us. Perhaps that is why the Lord tells us to not repay evil with evil, to do good to those who hate us? Surely torture cannot in any way be called good, can it?

Since this and many other evils are the policy of the government, and the wars they start are based upon lies, a Christian should have nothing to do with serving in the military. When the lies are all stripped away you’ll find that the soldier isn’t defending freedom, or their families, or neighbors, but committing violence, including murder, yes murder, all based upon the lies the government tells them.

Luke 3:14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.

A Christian cannot look to the world for their moral compass. They cannot judge good and evil based upon what the world does, but that is the case with many professing Christians. The Word of God must be our moral authority. The Bible tells us to not be conformed to the world, but most churches are, therefore so are the people who go to them. That is why the Bible tells us to come out of the wicked world institutions, including the conformed to the world “Church” (Rev 18:4), and remain unchanged by it (James 1:27).
