In my search for the truth I have encountered many people
claiming to have Jesus Christ as their Savior, their Lord, but who couldn't
care less about the truth. As if it, the
truth, doesn't matter. The purpose of
this article is to make it clear to all who profess Jesus Christ as their Lord,
that truth does matter, you can't claim ignorance, or that “Jesus will show you
the truth” if you've never searched for
the truth in the first place. You can't
say to yourselves “well, it was good enough for my parents, it's good enough
for me”. Remember that most of the
greatest lies told in the “Church” system have been handed down for centuries,
even thousands of years. Mom and dad
have been deceived, just as you are, and grandma and grandpa too.
One of the worst of these deceptions handed down to
“Christians” is that country and God are the same thing, have the same outcomes
in mind, the same foreign policy objectives.
The Lord wants His children to join the military and kill all those who
oppose the government's military adventures.
If you were to study the newscasts, recent history, etc from the
mainstream, or corporate controlled media outlets, and then do a search of
independent news sources and see the large divergence in what is reported,
you'd have to say someone is lying and then if you have a love for the truth
(which is a love for Christ Himself) you'd have to find out why, and which side
is telling the truth. But most don't,
most just accept it and stay asleep, stay blissfully ignorant, because they
don't care, don't love the truth enough to investigate.
The same thing goes on in the so-called “Church”. The “pastor” said so, it must be true, no
need to question, no need to study my Bible, except on Wednesday nights, in a
denominational approved study exercise.
After all they say to themselves as they mindlessly follow the paid
hirelings “Romans 13 says we have to obey the government”. Does it?
Did the early apostles obey the government when they were told to stop
preaching the Gospel? Did they take up
arms against their oppressors?
There is a correlation between the secular humanist who
doesn't care if the news media lies to him, and the supposed Christian who
cares not that he is lied to also. Both
are heading for trouble, unprepared, with no one but themselves to blame.
The reason truth is so important is that in seeking it, you
are seeking the Lord Himself, He is Truth!
Think of the warnings He and His apostles gave us:
[KJV]
Luke 21:8
And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
Many times He warns us of false prophets and to not be
deceived, in doing so He is saying, follow me, follow the truth, abide in me,
seek me, seek the truth:
[KJV]
Luke 11:9
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
[KJV]
II Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
And one of my favorite examples of the importance of seeking
the truth is the description of the people in Berea:
[KJV]
Acts 17:10
And
the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who
coming thither went into the
synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
They sought the truth, they studied, they sought the Lord,
diligently, daily, until they received it.
Today's Christian basically pays a hireling to give them the truth,
which is NOT the truth, but what they want to hear.
[KJV]
II Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
In Mat 7 we find a dire warning from the Lord as to the
consequences of not seeking the truth, of being deceived:
[KJV]
Matthew 7:15
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
False prophets deceive the people, especially those that
aren't seeking the truth, aren't studying the Word of God. The people led astray, farther and farther
away from the truth, not willing to contemplate that their paid hirelings,
called “pastors” and “ministers, or even “Father” might not be telling them the
truth will receive what they deserve:
[KJV] II Thessalonians
2:10
And with all
deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received
not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should
believe a lie.
12 That they
all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in
unrighteousness.
Finally, if you have a true fear of the Living God, if you
believe His Word to be true these words should create a desire in you to leave
the false doctrines and prophets behind and seek the Lord earnestly and
diligently outside of the conformed to the world “Church”, just you and the
Lord and mercifully, prayerfully, you won't hear these words from the Lord:
[KJV]
Matthew 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord,
Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my
Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord,
Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?
and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I
never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
